Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 (died May 7, 2010) was an American actress, singer and dancer who was in films during the 1940s and 1950s[2] and on television during the 1950s and 1960s. As a professional under the name Adele St. Mara, she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures [citation required] and began to work in the studio's "B" features as well as comedy shorts. This was soon shortened to Adele Mara. Mara began her career as a receptionist in the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of a wrongfully accused and escaped prisoner. After her Columbia contract ran out and she was transferred to Republic Pictures, where she became a regular character in their westerns as well as outdoor adventure. [citation needed] She starred in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch with John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar's love interestwas played by her, California Passage, and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
